Bir Proper - Upper Bir Bus Stand, somewhere around the center of main Bir Bazar
Tibetan Colony – Just in front of the bank in the center of the colony
Central Chowgan - At Chowgan Chowk, the intersection of Bir Road and Chowgan (Colony) Road
Bhattu – You will fine at least one taxi in the parking lot at Sherab Ling Monastery
Ghornala – You would not find a taxi stand here, but one can easily arrange for a taxi over the phone and ask them to come to this pick point

One can get to Bir from Pathankot in 4 hours or reach Dharamshala within 2 hours
Between Upper Bir and Chowgan or Tibetan Colony the distance is of hardly 5 minutes
Between Bir Road and Chowgan or Tibetan Colony time taken is 5 minutes
Between Bir Road and Upper Bir it is 10 minutes distance
Between Upper Bir or the Tibetan Colony and Ghornala (for the Dharmalaya Institute) the distance is 10 kilometers
Between Bir or the Tibetan Colony via Bhattu (Sherab Ling) is 20 minutes

The taxi fare per kilometer is 10 Rs and the charges are counted on the basis of the kilometers you travel.
