Bir Billing is reachable from the Kangra Airport and you can approach it from Dharmashala Palampur. From Palampur it is just approximately 2 hours drive to Bir and from Bir it is just 45 minutes uphill to the Billing Top.

The Deer Park institute is a center for study and of classical Indian wisdom traditions, which is established by the Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche in March 2006 and comes under the patronage of Dalai Lama. Chokling Gompa is the monastery of Neten Chokling Rinpoche, which is also a reincarnation of ama in the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism and the director of the film Milarepa (2006). Chokling Gompa is a point of architectural interest, with a grand prayer hall and a picturesque stupa. There are also several other monasteries and temples in Tibetan Colony and the Tibetan herbal clinic and handicraft which serves as the tourist attractions. The major monastery of Sherab Ling is just a few minutes away located in the Bhattu village. Tibetan Buddhist monastic college is located in nearby Chauntara, where you can pay a visit. Yet another, Indian charitable society (NGO) based in Bir is Dharmalaya.
